la pitchoune
At Barn Diva’s Pink Party in April, I tasted my first splash of ‘la Pitchoune’ rosé. I knew I’d have to track down more of this wine. My mom and I visited the custom crush facility, Vinify, on Coffee Lane in Santa Rosa.
THANK GOODNESS this did not burn down during the 2017 Tubbs Fire! Co-founder and assistant winemaker Tracy met us out front.

Lots of action at Vinify and the neighboring warehouse wineries.
Mobile bottling lines at Donelan & Carol Shelton. Barrels cleaned, moved and prep-work underway for harvest. Tracy setup a tasting on a cart in front of her barrels. I felt a kinship with Tracy and La Pitchoune wine.
Tracy’s chocolate lab is George. My chocolate is Lexi. Both 4. We hope to set them up on a date soon.
Tracy is a transplant to Sonoma County as am I.

Sonoma Coast Pinot hooked us to this wine area.
We both adore Marissa Ross @marissaaross and secretly wish she’d be our best friend.
Tracy wanted to break into the wine industry for years and kept being told no.
I’m motivated by her sheer determination. We tasted through Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast and Russian River Pinots.
Recently, the 2014 La Pitchoune Chardonnay from Chenoweth Vineyard was crowned best of class premium Chardonnay at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. You might be thinking, huh, a 2014 Chardonnay?
La Pitchoune is not about releasing wines as quickly as possible. They age and nurture their wines. Send them a private message and get yourself in for a tasting too.
