Ambiance

  • A tasting room right in the heart of a Healdsburg residential area.

  • Surrounded by gorgeous Healdsburg houses.

  • The inside of the tasting room is nothing really to write home about.

  • What stuck out though, as I sat on one of the comfy patio couches outside the tasting room, were the tall trees surrounding me.

  • In fact, Seghesio even calls their outdoor area a picnic grove.

  • Picnic tables.

  • 2 bocce ball courts

  • You can get a charcuterie board to take outside with you and enjoy.

Wine Pick

  • I know Seghesio is known for their Zin.

  • I went home with a bottle of Arneis!

  • I think Arneis might be my new favorite white wine grape, second to Sauvingon Blanc.

Dog Approved

  • Yes!

  • Not inside the tasting room.

  • Dogs may hang while you sip on the patio or play bocce.

Feel Good Vibes

  • On my Instagram I mentioned that I would be participating in Passport To Dry Creek Valley.

  • A comment on one of my posts popped up from Amanda @sonomwinenerd

  • She encouraged me to stop by Seghesio.

  • Seghesio wasn’t on my itinerary but her enthusiasm made me want to swing by.

  • Amanda is a Tasting Room Associate at Seghesio.

  • When I arrived there she was!

  • We gave each other a big hug.

  • Although we barely had any time to talk, because the event was so busy, it warmed my heart to meet an Insta friend.

  • Sonoma County is filled with hospitalities warmest people.

  • Cheers to Seghesio for having someone like Amanda on their team.

  • It must mean you treat your employees well, and they enjoy working for the Seghesio Family brand.

  • Makes me feel good to drink my bottle of Seghesio Arneis and think of friendly Amanda.

  • The two of us wine lovers who LOVE our Sonoma County.

Wine Nerd Fact

  • The Seghesio Family Vineyards dates back to 1895.

  • Edoardo Seghesio planted Zinfandel WAY BACK THEN!

  • I really suggest scrolling through The Seghesio Story on their website.

  • They’ve done such a nice job time-lining the history of the winery with curated pictures.

  • As I was scrolling through, I spotted these AMAZING videos tucked away in the Website.

  • What a treasure!

  • I especially love ED SEGHESIO!!!!!

  • Ed is the STAR. What an animated and jolly man.

  • The Segehsio’s clearly are proud and determined to keep their story alive.

  • Some of these videos gave me chills.

  • Sonoma County is rich in history and I’m so grateful for the brave immigrants that came to this land and saw the potential!

Would I Join The Wine Club? Any Fun Events?

  • If I join do I get to hangout with Ed Seghesio because I’m a little starstruck?

  • I REALLY WANT to do one of the Home Ranch Hikes!

  • Looks like they have these hikes a few times throughout the year.

  • $75 General | $60 Club Here’s how they describe the hike: Seghesio family members Jim and Ned Neumiller, our 4th & 5th generation vineyard managers, as they lead you on an adventure through the 120 year old vines at our Home Ranch estate, where it all began in 1895. Explore the Zinfandel and Italian varietals on this historic property as you make your way to the top of Rattlesnake Hill. There will be plenty of hydration stops along the way, and your hard work will be rewarded with a delicious lunch featuring wines exclusively from our Home Ranch estate.

  • Looks like they also have an Annual Zin & BBQ festival.

  • Three chef’s battle for the best ribs paired with Zin.

  • Live music. Looks like a favorite event!

 Sheila’s Tasting Notes

  • I want to drink a glass of Zinfandel with 92 year old Ed Seghesio…

  • While eating his homemade raviolis.

  • Those are my simple Seghesio Tasting Notes.

  • Me. Ed. Raviolis. Zin. Stories.

  • Sounds absolutely perfect to me.
