You May Not Know

  • The Medlock Ames tasting room property has been a neighborhood fixture since the early 1900s.

  • It used to be known as the Alexander Valley Store and Bar.

  • Just outside the tasting room is an edible garden.

  • On the day I visited it was HOT!

  • Fresh mint from the garden was steeping in ice cold water. Delish!

  • I’ve only been to the tasting room.

  • I had no idea Medlock Ames had a seprate ranch called Bell Mountain.

  • Bell Mountain Estate ranch stretches from Alexander Valley in the north to Russian River Valley in the south and borders Chalk Hill.

  • You can take a $40 tours with the winemaker up at the ranch. Estate wines are poured and a local cheese plate is served.

  • The Medlock Ames vineyards are farmed organically with no insecticides, chemical fertilizers or herbicides.

  • I find it fun that many of my local friends have at one point or another worked at Medlock Ames.

  • I’m sad that the beloved Alexander Valley Bar attached to the tasting room is closed.

  • So many memories at this bar.

  • Watching the spectacular sunset.

  • Sunday concerts with the best food trucks.

  • My friends and I feel a bit lost without our favorite bar meeting spot.
